(Video): Martin Keown on Chelsea’s obvious flaw

Martin Keown was on TalkSport today running the rule over Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Fulham. The former Arsenal was not impressed by the sludgy showing that Graham Potter’s team displayed.

As well as being puzzled by both the starting team and the subs that Potter made, Keown pointed out what is punishingly clear to all of us who watch Chelsea regularly – they don’t create enough, and they don’t score enough.

In this game they had £250m of brand new talent involved, and still barely troubled the opposition keeper. Until they sort that, they’re going nowhere.

You can see his point in the clip embedded here:

  1. Duh! The money spent on Mudryk should have been spent on a world class #9. Sure we could always upgrade at winger, but it wasn’t/isn’t our most pressing need. Everyone bemoans how Havertz, Sterling, Mount, Pulisic haven’t been good enough, but all become far more dangerous when they have someone to run off of (just look at how devastating the Son/Kane combination is and imagine if we had a 9 anywhere near the quality of Kane).
