Tomas Soucek quite clearly handled the ball as Conor Gallagher’s late shot headed towards West Ham’s goal, but the referee didn’t see it.
No matter, that’s what VAR is for. But the video ref saw it again and said nothing.
It was truly one of the most surprising moments we’ve seen, even by VAR’s standards it was shocking.
“This was awful” roared the pundits on ESPN’s Gab and Jules show. Like us, they are flabbergasted by these new depths. It cost us 2 points, but at this point we’re not sure where to turn anymore.
