Sources in Brazil are reporting that midfielder Andrey Santos has returned there to begin making decisions over where he will spend this season on loan.
The midfielder was set to be included in Chelsea’s squad for the second part of the season, only to miss out on a UK work permit by one point. He spent some time at the Chelsea training ground last week, but has clearly now moved on.
We had thought it was possible that Chelsea would keep him around for as long as possible at Cobham, meeting his new teammates and starting the adaptation process, but clearly the opposite approach has been taken.

Now he’s back in Brazil, he can sort out his club for this year quickly, and can instead start adjusting to life there, rather than here.
He’s going to be an exciting one to keep an eye on this year, with Copa Libertadores action a priority.
