Danny Murphy is on TalkSport this morning talking about Mason Mount’s contract situation, and he had to argue against Simon Jordan, who was insisting that the midfielder is asking for too much money, causing the standoff.
Murphy didn’t agree, saying it was a matter of “respect”, with Mount feeling that he was being undervalued as an academy player, and wanting a reward for his good form on a low wage over the last few years.
We may never know the truth – but it’s clear how quickly this could get messy.
