Sam Wallace has today written a really interesting piece about Chelsea’s future, looking at the structure put in place by the new ownership and how it will work moving forward.
They have apparently identified 7 members of the squad who are “elite performers” ready to form the core of the team going forward: Reece James, Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana from the current team; Christopher Nkunku who will sign this summer, plus Levi Colwill who will return from his loan at Brighton.
There are certainly some questions there – what has Mudryk done in his career to be considered elite that Ben Chilwell hasn’t, for example?
You’ll also notice the vital lack of a goalkeeper in that equation, and of a central midfielder to play with Enzo.
But clearly, piece by piece, the new technical and sporting directors are piecing together their vision for the future of the club.

Pls there has to be second look at Wesley Fofana, he was struggling to match Vini. Jnr , it seems he lacks the confidence and pace. And for second coming of Frank Lampard hmmm , he is just doing the PR job rather than coaching
