Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
Mount’s contract will expire in just over a year, and with no new deal close to being signed, a sale this summer looks increasingly likely. So far it’s been Liverpool with the strongest connections to the midfielder, but we expect other links to build up as the summer draws closer.
Goal.com are among the sites reporting that the Gunners are “monitoring” Mount, but with Declan Rice as their “priority” target for the summer.
They also claim that “talks have taken place,” but as always it’s unclear how serious or official these talks have been.
Whether or not they end up winning the Premier League this season, Arsenal will likely have a large budget this summer due to their return to the Champions League, and Chelsea are limited in the fee they can ask for Mount due to his expiring contract.
