Bruno to take charge of Chelsea’s next games

Graham Potter’s assistant manager Bruno Saltor will be in charge for Chelsea’s game against Liverpool on Tuesday night, after Potter’s sacking last night,

Bruno was brought to the club from Brighton as part of Potter’s staff, but will outlive his former boss at the club following the manager’s dismissal.

It seems unlikely that he’s in place any longer than is necessary to find a replacement – but given insiders like Matt Law are reporting there is not yet anyone in line to take over, there’s no telling how long that could be.

The game against Liverpool and the games against Real Madrid in the Champions League in the coming weeks are huge – but equally it would be short sighted to pick a successor to Potter with those games in mind when there’s a much broader horizon to think about.

Bruno can hope to impress with his chance in charge, but ultimately may be swept away by a new regime, when we find one.
