Chelsea have agreed a deal with Frank Lampard for the club legend to take over as caretaker manager until the end of the season.
Fabrizio Romano has given his patented “here we go,” meaning we’re probably in line for an announcement within the next 24 hours.

It should be a great deal for both – allowing Lampard to show what he can do at the top level again, while hopefully bringing a lot of joy and energy back to the team.
There are plenty of talented players there, we just need a coach who can get them playing somewhere close to their potential again, and club legend Lampard would be the perfect candidate.
The top candidates to take the job full time are all unemployed currently – Mauricio Pochettino, Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique – but clearly those upstairs like the idea of taking a long hard think about this one, having messed up their appointment of Graham Potter so badly.
