Bayern Munich have confirmed that Anthony Barry has joined the club as Thomas Tuchel’s assistant.
There have been talks about a move for Barry ever since Tuchel joined the German club a month ago, and while it’s taken a while, a move has seemed inevitable since the start.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was pictured in Munich on Wednesday night watching Bayern’s game against Man City, presumably also helping to negotiate a compensation settlement for Barry.

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić was quoted as follows:
“I’m pleased we’ve managed to recruit Anthony Barry. Anthony completes our coaching staff and is an ideal fit for FC Bayern with his passion and his quality.”
Barry originally joined Chelsea as Frank Lampard’s assistant as one of Europe’s mostly highly rated young coaches, and has since worked with the Belgium and Ireland setups as an assistant. Losing him is another major blow to Todd Boehly and the new ownership as they look to build a top setup behind the scenes.
