Kalidou Koulibaly has been taken off after 53 minutes at the Bernabeu with what looks like a hamstring injury.
The Senegal defender was caught out by a simple straight ball punted over the top by Thibaut Courtois to Rodrygo, and while Koulibaly made up for his error by chasing back and using his strength to squeeze out the Brazilian winger, it cost him dearly as he pulled up shortly after.
After trying to play on, he eventually gave up, and he’s been replaced by Marc Cucurella.
It’s a case of one in one out as Thiago Silva returned to the team tonight. It looked more of a tweak for KK than anything else – hence him carrying on – but either way it’s likely to be a game or two out at the very least, just when we want a full squad.
Benoit Badiashile not being registered in Europe looks like a worse decision every week.
