Chelsea academy star Mason Burstow has just won the PL2 player of the month award for March.
The young striker has made himself a key player in the Development Squad after arriving at the club lst summer, and has racked up 9 goals and 4 assists.
He scored 3 of those goals in March as the Dev. squad went unbeaten.
Burstow was signed from Charlton to help strengthen our reserve side after relegation scares a year ago, and he’s helped turn them back into a title contender.
The youngster had some very positive quotes about winning the award and how this recognition at an ever higher level made him feel:
“To win this award is a huge honour and means a lot to me. I want to thank my team-mates and coaches for the amazing work, day to day, that has helped me to have these performances,” the top young striker said in quotes on the Chelsea official website.
“It is a personal win for me but a win for the team as well and that it reflects our season as a group and the work we have been doing as a team. Thank you to all that voted for me, I really appreciate the recognition.”
Here’s to many more! Next season, he won’t be winning them in PL2 however, with the 19 year old likely to head to the Championship or a European league on loan to continue his excellent development.
