Matt Law’s piece about Chelsea’s newly vacant managerial role outlines some of the things he thinks the sporting directors will be looking for.
He claims that the club are looking to interview “at least give candidates” to make sure they have a full picture of what is available to them. Law also outlines things he thinks that Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley will be looking for in Potter’s successor:
Big club experience, clear vision, inspiring communication skills, the ability to improve young players, and an openness to ideas.
That last one means being happy about being told what to do by the owners and the sporting directors, in a way that Thomas Tuchel was not.
Potter’s lack of experience and communication skills were clearly seen as weaknesses, and we expect the new man to excel in those areas as the club swing violently back the other way to try and find the right man.

FINALLY CAME TO YOUR SENSES !!!!! I PERSONALLY BLAME THE NEW OWNER FOR C.F.C. PROBLEMS. I KNOW THAT THEY, AND MANAGERS LIKE TO FORM A CLUB/TEAM INSTEAD OF USING PREVIOUS IDEAS, BUT COMING IN LIKE A BULLDOZER CHANGING ALL THAT SERVED, PLAYED FOR, AND LOVED THE CLUB, TOTALLY KNOCKED EVERYTHING OFF BALANCE. DO THIS GRADUALLY WITH A TRIED, AND SUCCESSFUL COACH WHO HAS EARNED RESPECT. NAGELSMANN IS PROVEN, POCHRTTINO IS GOOD, AND KNOWS THE PREMIER LEAGUE. MOURINHO IS MY CHOICE KNOWS THE LEAGUE, THE CLUB, AND IS A WINNER. HE WILL TAKE THESE PLAYERS, AND MOULD THEM AND BEFORE MADRID, OR EXPECT A DRUBBING !!!!!
Nagelsmann is the Man.
The “open to ideas” is nonsense. You don’t need someone else’s ideas if you have a clear vision. These people know sucker, not football. Sounds more like they want to take credit for the a manager’s success. What ideas did they give Potter and why don’t they take credit for his failures?
