Stan Collymore is what one might call a “loose cannon,” there’s no hiding from it. But that means he comes up with some interesting and unique opinions, and we’re “here for it.”
This week, seemingly out of nowhere among a dramatic Premier League weekend in the title race, he’s come up with a hot take about… Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The Chelsea academy player is on loan in the Bundesliga but has had another tough season, and Collymore thinks he knows exactly what his career needs – a move to Crystal Palace.
“My advice to him would be to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer and go to somewhere like Crystal Palace, who look like they’re going to lose Wilfried Zaha, in order to get his career back on track,” Collymore said in his exclusive column on Caughtoffside.
I do like the thought of him joining Palace though. That is a move, that to me, would make a lot of sense. They’re in London, they look like they’re going to need a new winger, the fees involved are likely to suit Palace’s budget and the pressure on him to succeed won’t be anywhere near as high as it is at Chelsea.”
Well it’s certainly an original thought, and we can see the logic. After being a small fish in a big pond for so long, we can see why CHO might want to move somewhere which allows him to shine a little more.
Trying to be Wilfried Zaha’s long term replacement wouldn’t be easy, but we all know CHO has the talent.
