Chelsea’s coaching situation continues to be a mess with new faces and old faces interchagning

Frank Lampard was Chelsea’s third manager in a week as he took charge of the Wolves game yesterday, but as The Athletic point out, the confusion about who is actually coaching this team alongside him continues.

In his press conference ahead of the game, Lampard was unable to confirm exactly who he was working with. That was fair enough – he had only been appointed a couple of hours before, and it was clearly going to take some time to sort out his assistants.

Yesterday we saw that the rumours were right – Ashley Cole, Joe Edwards and Chris Jones were ou there taking a warmup, while Graham Potter’s crew – including Bruno Saltor who had managed the team as recently as Tuesday – were nowhere to be seen.

We don’t know if they’re gone for good, if they’re coming back, or if they’ve been sacked. Such is the confusion at the club these days.

  1. Lampard,s team selection was shocking,he had enough talent to go 3-5-2 instead of a 4-3-3 that did not work from the whistle. The sooner Chelsea get a real top class coach the better the club the players the fans will feel great again.
