Did you get the feeling Chelsea were going to lose today’s game once they had conceded the opening goal to Wolves? We’re not surprised. The Blues record when they are losing at half time is chilling – in fact it literally couldn’t be worse.
They’ve trailed 7 times at the half this season, and have not turned a single one of those games into even a draw.
7 half time deficits, 7 losses.
It’s the sure sign of a weak team with no conviction, no confidence, and most importantly, no goals in it. Once a team like Wolves has the lead, they’re able to very comfortably sit back and defend it. We just don’t threaten to score, and in all honesty we don’t look like we’re even trying at times.
This goes deeper than the players and the manager, there’s just a real issue with confidence all around, and it’s going to take a root and branch renewal to sort it out.
