Chelsea’s likely team to face Real Madrid with Kante back in

Frank Lampard confirmed in his press conference after the defeat to Wolves that N’Golo Kante, who didn’t play today, will be fit to face Real Madrid on Wednesday.

We expect Kepa to continue in goal, even though Lampard ultimately sacked him off in his first spell.

We will surely see a return to a back 3, meaning Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana playing with either Marc Cucurella or Trevoh Chalobah.

In midfield Kante will play with Enzo Fernandez and probably Mateo Kovacic (or Denis Zakaria if he’s really looking to batten down the hatches.

Then Kai Havertz, Joao Felix and Raheem Sterling look set to continue as the front 3. There’s certainly room for changes in that part of the team – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Noni Madueke and Mykahilo Mudryk will all be pushing for a place at some point.

But Real Madrid in the Champions League quarters probably isn’t the right moment for changes.
