James Olley was on the ESPN football show today insisting that the Mauricio Pochettino move to Chelsea wasn’t done yet.
Despite all the chatter in recent days – and people behaving as though it’s a fait accompli, there has been nothing signed and nothing announced.
Olley noted that when he had spoken to people at Chelsea and people in Pochettino’s camp in the last few days, both sides were at pains to point out that a final offer hadn’t yet been made.
So while everyone expects a deal to be done, it’s not done yet. “These things are delicate” the ESPN writer noted.
We’ve already seen Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique drop from heavy favourite to out of the running, so we’re certainly not taking anything for granted yet.

We’re still very confident it happens sooner rather than later, but let’s hold our horses for now.
