Chelsea have received a boost in their attempts to get Julian Nagelsmann in as their next permanent manager, should they decide that is what they want to do.
It doesn’t look like a final decision has been made as of yet, but Nagelsmann is heavily reported to be the main favourite.
A development today may well help clear a path for Chelsea to complete the move to bring Nagelsmann in, with the German coach still being attached to Bayern Munich.
According to The Times today, Chelsea’s Anthony Barry is set to join Bayern Munich after the two clubs finally thrashed out a deal for his release.
The report explains that the resolution of Barry’s situation also helps clear the path for Chelsea should they decide they want to appoint Nagelsmann as their next boss. Chelsea would need to negotiate his release and with the Barry issue removed from the equation there would be fewer complications to such discussions.
