Didier Drogba says he “doesn’t recognise” his club anymore

Didier Drogba is a pundit on Canal Sports in France tonight for Chelsea’s game against Real Madrid, and before the game has even kicked off, he didn’t miss the chance to stick the boot in.

After a dire season which has seen many years of progress collapse, Drogba went as far as to say that he “doesn’t recognise” the side he called “my club.”

Plenty of Blues fans will recognise the sentiment. The sacking of many beloved figures, the change in ownership, the terrible results and lack of passion on the pitch. It’s enough to make anyone feel disconnected.

The comparison to the spirited side that Drogba played in is just unbearable. You could trust him to at least give them a good go tonight. Let’s hope the players out there on the pitch tonight can do Didier and the rest of their supporters justice after a horrible season all round.
