Enzo excited for “key occasion” against Brentford

Enzo Fernandez has been interviewed on the Chelsea website about tonight’s game against Brentford, and while a lot of fans are pretty downbeat about it, he’s insisted he and the squad are excited by the chance to turn things around.

They’re stung by their dreadful recent performance, and desperate to play well and pick up some good results to end the season.

Frank Lampard has lost his 4 games in charge so far, but one saw the day after he arrived, two were against Real Madrid and one saw him use a heavily rotated team as it was sandwiched between the two Madrid games.

As Enzo said, today is a fresh start:

“It is a very important game and a key occasion. We have had to suffer the disappointment of being knocked out of the Champions League, which was a tough blow for us, but it is now back to work and doing our job out on the field,” the talented midfielder said on the official club website.

“It is very important that we finish well in the Premier League and we have a great opportunity to start that tonight.

“Now, it is all about showing what we have got in terms of adversity. It has been a tough time for us recently, and it is all about sticking together as a group, team and club.

“These tough periods test you as a player, it is all about being strong, and if we can do all of those things, it is about finishing as high as we possibly can in the league table come the end of the season.”

Enzo should be allowed a little more attacking space against a Brentford team that play quite direct, and we are looking forward to seeing him pull some magic in the middle.
