Enzo Fernandez shines in impressive Chelsea midfield

Gary Neville was on co commentary duties for Sky Sports tonight, and he chose Enzo Fernandez as his man of the match.

It was a more than reasonable selection. Enzo had a great game, and the stats that flashed up on screen as he was picked showed he had been dominant in terms of touches and passes, as well as wining possession 10 times.

The Blues had their struggles up top, but Enzo and Kante were brilliant in the middle, with Mateo Kovacic able to roam a little more with two such industrious partners.

The team couldn’t capitalise, but there was some really nice play, and a good coach taking over and adding some patterns and some structure has fantastic resources to work with. It will be interesting to see whether this 3 man midfield in front of a back 3 persists, with Kante now hopefully available for the rest of the season.
