Enzo looking forward to “big show” against Real Madrid

Enzo Fernandez has already achieved great things in football, but in terms of European club competition he’s still a novice. Tonight’s quarter final first leg will be the biggest game he’s played in on that stage, but in the press conference last night, he insisted there were no nerves on his part.

“I try not to have pressure in football, just to enjoy it, There is responsibility in this match but there is no pressure, I always try to enjoy. You don’t have to be afraid and lets hope tomorrow is a big show,” the midfielder said in quotes picked up by Football London.

“No pressure. I’m going to try and enjoy the match. I don’t think I have to prove anything to anyone and I’ll give my best as I always do.”

He faces a tough test against a midfield with exceptional experience at this level, but he doesn’t sound worried:

“Afraid? We’re not afraid,” he revealed defiantly. “There is respect because this is a football match and we know the quality they have. We will try to counteract them with our defenders and have great defensive work and make a wonderful match.”

We certainly don’t have any doubts about Enzo himself freezing up. The games against Dortmund were his first in the Champions League and he looked totally at home from the first minute. This will be a new level once again, but he’s a cool customer and we don’t envision him wilting.
