Chelsea have many problems on the pitch right now, the most major one is that they just cannot score goals.
They’ve now gone four games without scoring a goal, which is the worst run they’ve had on record since 1993.
One major tactical flaw that Chelsea failed with vs Real Madrid!
The biggest and most obvious problem is that they do not really have a number nine, apart from Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who has been left out in the cold for whatever reason.
And this has forced Kai Havertz to play as the number nine, and he has not been performing well there at all.
Most people you speak to in football will say that Havertz is not an out and out striker, and Journalist Paul Brown agrees.
He believes that Frank Lampard must tweak the current Chelsea system to allow Havertz to play as a number 10, which is his best position.
Brown spoke to Give Me Sport this week and he says: “It just doesn’t feel like Chelsea are set up to play to his strengths at the moment, and I think maybe the manager needs to tweak the system a little bit. Havertz, to me, still feels like a 10, but Chelsea don’t have a nine really in the squad and that is the problem.
“I just don’t think Havertz is a ruthless goalscorer who’s going to be scoring you 20, 30 goals every season on a regular basis. That’s what Chelsea miss.”

Why is this news to anyone??? For those of us paying attention, we’ve known Havertz wasn’t a #9 well before Chelsea bought him! It’s shocking to hear/see supposedly knowledgeable people comment as if “Havertz might be a 10,” is some great new insight, lol!
As a fan of Chelsea from Kenya, I am completely frustrated because this is not normal for our club. The manager should sit down with the full board and look for a permanent solution to say the truth to the club has used a lot of money to buy the players but we are not seeing the good result we expected. Lampard should think of getting the number nine player at all costs.
