Chelsea’s manager search has reached the very final stages now, and it looks like the role could well be given to former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
For quite a while it was reported that former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann was the favourite and leading the race, but now it is very much Pochettino.

Further to his tweet update on the situation this morning, as above, Romano has also penned some more updates and thoughts writing in his exclusive CaughtOffside colum.
He says that the Chelsea players are waiting and are keen to hear who the next permanent manager is going to be.
He said: “Talks will continue for sure this week, Pochettino will discuss further details with Chelsea. So next days are going to be important.
“Players are still waiting to know who’s going to be appointed as new coach; they just hope for some clarity as soon as possible, it’s normal.”
It genuinely now does just feel like it’s a matter of when and not if Pochettino becomes the next Chelsea manager. I feel like we will hear confirmation at some point this week, and all roads now lead to Pochettino, who of course is a top quality coach and will be a great choice for Chelsea.
Been a Blues supporter since 1960, and have seen every change that has happened with our club owners,managers, players but to make Pochettino our next manager is beyond belief. He has never won anything of importance been totally useless in Europe and we want him to take our club forward, we will be no better off. He will sacked before he wins anything with us.
