Frank Lampard has basically only had good injury news since arriving at Chelsea, but after a week off he today had some really bad news for us.
He announced right off the bat in his press conference that both Mason Mount and Reece James will miss the rest of this season.
We saw James pick up a hamstring injury in the Real Madrid game, and while he played on for the rest of that match it’s clear that the club are putting him on ice for the final 7 matches of the season given there isn’t much to play for.
Mount’s absence is apparently down to the “pelvic” issue that has been bothering him pretty much since the World Cup break.
Given it looks like he will leave the club this summer, he may have played his last game for Chelsea. His latest disappearance won’t help the rumours that he’s being frozen out by those upstairs.
