Frank Lampard has good injury news for Chelsea fans

It looked like Chelsea’s afternoon might have gone from bad to worse today when Wesley Fofana took a knock and was later substituted.

But Scott Trotter of Football London reported that he had spoken to Frank Lampard after his press conference and learned that the defender is fine, and it was either just a minor knock or a precaution.

That’s a big boost for the team. Fofana has been brilliant in recent weeks, and we need him at his best if we’re to have any chance against Real Madrid in midweek.

Today the switch to a back four didn’t really help the team, and we expect a return to a 3 on Wednesday night, with Fofana likely to line up alongside Kalidou Koulibaly and possibly Marc Cucurella at left centre back, given Thiago Silva is still out injured.

It could also be a chance for Trevoh Chalobah to get a rare start.
