Goalkeeper’s agents in London to meet Chelsea this week, Blues best placed for signing

Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly looking to sign Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

The 22-year-old has impressed with his performances in the Spanish league this season and the two Premier League clubs have recently met up with the player’s representatives regarding a summer move.

This is according to COPE, who claim that the player’s agents have been in London this week speaking to Chelsea about a move, with The Blues being best placed to land his signature.

According to the report from the Spanish publication, Mamardashvili has a €100 million (£87.5m) release clause in his contract and it remains to be seen whether the two Premier League clubs are prepared to pay up for his services.

They also name Tottenham as a club interested in signing the stopper.

They even claim that his agents were meeting with Chelsea this week and then witnessed from the box the match between the London team and Liverpool.
