Graham Potter is out, and Chelsea are looking for a new manager for the second time this season.
Blues fans have been through the process of changing managers enough times to know what happens now. The long reads in the papers explaining why the last guy wasn’t suitable, telling stories about how things went wrong which are clearly being put out by those who decided to sack the recently departed manager.
The Athletic lead the charge today, with a long read about “where things went wrong for Potter.” It’s full of the exact things you’d expect – in fact you could almost have written this before he was ever appointed.
He was seen as out of his depth and players didn’t have respect for him – even though they did like him.
There’s also some detail about how bloated the squad is, which isn’t Potter’s fault but the fault of those same guys who appointed him.
