As you can see in the photo above, Frank Lampard is in the stands at Stamford Bridge tonight, watching Chelsea play out a tense 0-0 with Liverpool.
The cameras picked out the Blues legend and former manager in the first half, and there was of course immediate speculation about whether he’d fancy taking up the vacant position now.
We can certainly see a situation where Lampard comes in as a caretaker one day – but the number of top coaches on the market now means that decision makers at the club will likely not need an interim option beyond Bruno Saltor, who has stepped up tonight.
