Some of Chelsea’s first team stars including Ben Chilwell have taken to Twitter to post messages of thanks to the sacked Graham Potter.

We supposed it’s just the done thing now, even for a manager who wasn’t around long and had little success. Potter seems genuinely well liked, and so this isn’t entirely PR guff. Marc Cucurella in particular has been with his old coach at two clubs now.
A number of these players are probably feeling a little guilty, and rightly so. A few better decisions on Saturday and Potter might still be in a job.

Appreciating a guy for giving his best (even if you believe he made poor choices and came up short) is simply the classy thing to do. And when you consider that, under immense pressure, Potter never once sold out his players in the press., it’s kind of sad that more of the squad don’t/didn’t have the character to post a simple “thank you and good luck.” What does it cost you just to be a decent person?
