Frank Lampard was asked about Enzo Fernandez in his press conference this afternoon, and the Blues boss took the chance to very complimentary.
He said he was a “fantastic talent” and praised the way he had handled moving to a new country mid-season, without speaking the language, and coming into a team that basically hasn’t functioned all year.
“It will make him better,” Lampard said of the tricky times since Enzo arrived.
“He is the future,” the interim coach added in quotes picked up by Football London.
It sounds like Lampard is impressed by his work ethic and training as well as his raw ability, and he sounds convinced that he can go on and improve significantly as he adapts to life in the Premier League and gets a solid side around him in place.
We want to forget this horror season as soon as possible, but Enzo could really be the gem we take forward from it all into the future.
