Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as the new front runner for the Chelsea job after Julien Nagelsmann pulled out of the race according to a story in the Guardian last night.
The former Spurs manager has moved ahead of early front runners Luis Enrique and Nagelsmann to become the favourite to take the job this summer.
The bookies agree – Pochettino is now heavily favoured compared to every other option on the board.
It represents quite the turnaround from the last few days, which have seen the Argentine trail behind the two others in the race. But Nagelsmann withdrawal – potentially because of worries about the situation at Chelsea.
Pochettino has been out of work since leaving PSG last summer after a difficult spell at the Parisian club which saw him miss out on the French title to Lille.
Many Blues fans will be unhappy because of his Tottenham links – but given the paucity of top managers around at the moment, it may be a necessary evil.

I do not know where Todd and Co are getting advice from but if there’s anyone who is pushing the board to hire Pochettino, even if the individual is brother in-law, please stay away from him. He doesn’t want you to and your investment in Chelsea FC to thrive.Go and hire a proven winner and a very tactically experienced Manager in Luis Enrique! This advice is given to you free of charge ( FOC). If you can do that now, you will witness the turn of results on AND off the pitch!
If Pochetino gets the job this is going to be the next super bad decision of Boehly who obviously has no clue how to run things and just spends money?! How pathetic!!!!
