There have been a few whispers in recent days about Kalidou Kouliably moving to Juventus after just a year in the Premier League, with places like the Metro claiming there have been talks with senior figures at the Italian club.
We would be in favour of that move, if it could be arranged. We desperately need a squad trim and we’ve still got plenty of options on the bench to fill in his place in the squad. Thiago Silva has another year left in him at least, and there are young talents bubbling up.
It was an understandable signing in some ways. Chelsea needed an experienced centre back and for years Koulibaly had been one of the very best in Europe. He hasn’t been great for us, but in reality the whole team has struggled.
If we can get a reasonable fee, letting him to go Juve this summer and making space in the squad for young talents Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile, makes perfect sense.
