Caughtoffside today are one of the sites featuring further information about Mason Mount’s contract demands.
It originated with Florian Plettenberg, who is indeed a top source for German action, but not so much for the English stuff, so take it with a pinch of salt.
Plettenberg calls the situation “very complicated” and says that Mount’s salary demands are the “biggest problem.” He claims that Mount is demanding £258,000 a week to sign a new long term deal.

That’s a vast amount of money, obviously, but compared to some of the chancers banking similar amounts without having contributed nearly as much, it’s not that crazy.
It’s also important to remember that it’s in the interests of those who are reluctant to give him the money he wants to play up his demands to make their failure to agree a new deal with him seem more excusable. As always, it’s an information war.
