Terry was rumoured to be potentially taking a role in the Chelsea first-team alongside Frank Lampard, but for whatever reason that did not happen and has now led to Terry leaving the club altogether and joining his former Aston Villa colleague Smith.
Terry was Assistant Manager at Villa, and this move enables him to pick up his senior coaching career once again.
The Blues legend was being called for by many Chelsea fans to be given a place on the coaching bench alongside Lampard, and many will be absolutely gutted that this is not going to happen yet.
