We always knew that Chelsea sacking Graham Potter on Sunday will bring all sorts of media madness and reports, and today we have perhaps seen the most surprising link yet.
In Matt Law’s latest update for The Telegraph, he states that Chelsea are also considering potential new interim options if they cannot land one of their priority manager targets before the summer.
Sources: Chelsea get big boost in pursuit of Declan Rice!
And one name he has reported to be ‘one idea’ being considered by Chelsea is club legend and former player and boss, Frank Lampard, who was obviously sacked by the previous owners at the club.
Chelsea manager latest:
– Enrique flies to London
– Club also in contact with Nagelsmann
– Chelsea committed to speaking to up to 5 candidates (inc Poch) to establish frontrunner
– Caretaker to end of season not ruled out – Lampard one ideahttps://t.co/E7WTvzvAID— Matt Law (@Matt_Law_DT) April 5, 2023
I’m sure that there will be some Chelsea fans in love with this idea and you can understand why. But to be honest I just don’t see the sense in this option and don’t believe anything will come of it.
Chelsea’s manager priorities are available right now, that might not be the case in the summer.
