Chelsea take on Brighton today, and despite everything, it’s hard not to feel a sliver of positivity.
There’s just an unshakable feeling that this squad HAVE to turn it around and score some goals eventually, and the key factor today will be Stamford Bridge. The combination of Frank Lampard’s return with the home crowd could be just what we need to spark a performance from this group. If they get off to a good start and manage to lift the crowd, there should be a superb atmosphere that carries them forward.
On the other hand, we should be very cautious. This Brighton team are exceptionally good, well drilled and in great form. Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security by their name, they’re one of the best teams in the league, and will be so dangerous today.
They may not be Real Madrid, but nor were most of the other teams who have embarrassed us this season.
