The news from Matt Law last night that Luis Enrique is no longer level favourite with Julien Nagelsmann to take over as Chelsea’s next boss has opened the door to other candidates, and it seems like Mauricio Pochettino is most likely to take that place.
We still don’t know why Luis Enrique has lost favour – perhaps because he’s not seen as “collaborative” enough for the ownership.
In that regard, Pochettino might just be the best of the bunch. He worked with Daniel Levy for years and seemed more happy than most managers to just work with the players rather than getting too involved upstairs.
Chelsea have also contacted Mauricio Pochettino in the last few days. It’s the first direct approach after last summer when he was in the list. 🚨🔵 #CFC
Nothing advanced yet, Nagelsmann remains favourite.

Fabrizio Romano has today reported that the former Spurs manager has met Chelsea officials too. Could Poch be in for a late run to steal the job at the last? We have yet to hear of a face to face meeting with the Argentine – that could well be the moment that swings it.
