It’s been a whirlwind week for Chelsea Football Club, and a whirlwind week for legend Frank Lampard.
He was sat back at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night watching Chelsea draw 0-0 with Liverpool as a fan. Then just two days later he had been announced as the Chelsea caretaker manager, returning to the club for his second time as a non-player.

And all this came just days after Chelsea lost 2-0 at home to Aston Villa, which resulted in Graham Potter being sacked. In between all of that, Bruno Salter took charge of one Chelsea game with Potter’s former staff. It’s all been a bit mad.
But Lampard is now in, and he has been very impressed with Chelsea’s new directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, who have been placed as two of Chelsea’s main decision makers under the new board setup now.
In quotes picked up by Football London last night, Lampard said: “From the conversations I have had with the club now and people that are decision makers and people running the club they have all been really positive.
“It has been really interesting for me because for a club to move forward and I’m very experienced now in terms working at different clubs, over my playing career as well. I was at Chelsea for a long period, went to Manchester City for a year, New York City. I managed at Derby, managed at Everton. You get an understanding of a club that has a vision and wants to move forward.
“Of course it’s about people and people working in the right direction and collaborating and talking and trying to find the right way. That’s the sense I’ve had coming here.
“Of course at the moment we are in a position where it’s part of the process. That’s fine. I keep saying the same thing but I’m ready to play my part in that process and I would be very honest and open with everybody. I know the club, I think that’s a positive coming into this role now.”

Lampard you are alegend but somehow still short in experince for a big club.
We just hope you can atleast secure a top 6 finish
Frank still has not had enough experience to manage a top club, even though I, like others LOVE HIM TO BITS. One idea would be to bring back either Jose M, or Carlo A, and give Frank a permanent assistant managers position, to give him time for learning, with the promise — he will take over at the end of their contract. Good for Chelsea, and better for Frank’s career.
