Surprise Chelsea manager candidate now ‘contacted’ by the club

Chelsea have made contact with a surprise new manager target as they search to bring in their next permanent boss.

I say surprise, but Mauricio Pochettino’s name HAS been linked with Chelsea recently, albeit not really as a serious candidate and some sources had played it down entirely.

Aleksander Mitrovic wants to join Chelsea?

However, it looks like he IS a serious candidate, according to an updated report from The Telegraph today.

They claim that Pochettino has been contacted by Chelsea as they narrow down their manager search to the remaining candidates.

Julian Nagelsmann formerly of Bayern Munich is also another one named on this list, yet Luis Enrique is no longer considered as a favourite to land the job.

The report says Chelsea are expected to hold further talks with Nagelsmann, who was interviewed last week, and Pochettino, along with other coaches, with club sources still insistent there is not yet a favourite or single leading contender for the post.

  1. If they appoint a manager owner shouldn’t interfere with the manager tactics and selection and acquiring player’s they want to. Owner only support manager in sort of needs of player’s to buy and sale . Let alone manager doing their job to make the club become champion .

    1. I’m not aware of a single story of these owners interfering with Graham Potter’s work, and they hired a staff to manage the footballing side of things (including transfers) as quickly as was practical. So, I’m not sure what the complaint can beyond the fact that Potter didn’t work out. The owners have done nothing but invest in the club (with an eye both for the long-term and trying to maintain winning ways as much as possible in the present). It has t worked as well as we would have liked I’m this first season, but, considering how hamstrung they were in the summer by the delayed sale (no thanks to the UK govt), I’m not sure what more you could really ask of them (besides buying a #9 in the Jan window or recalling Lukaku).

  2. The club i love so much will not be in the champions league.
Why would the owner/ management disrupt a bonded club by sacking staffs in the name of building and restructurant buying players we dont need?
Why would politicd be mixed with our beautiful game?
