“That’s where we came short” – Potter on what let Chelsea down in latest defeat

Graham Potter spoke to the press after today’s defeat to Aston Villa, and the coach decided to point out that his team had played well – apart from in the areas where it actually counted.

“If you look at the stats from the game, apart from the most important one, there’s a lot that says we did well. But when you look at the two boxes, that’s where we came too short,” the Chelsea coach said.

“I thought the team game everything, the intention was there.”

It’s utterly infuriating. He’s right – what let us down was what happened ibn both boxes, which is the important part of the whole game. No amount of midfield control matter if you can neither keep goals out nor score them yourself.

It’s pointless to refer to the positive stats when the ones that count are decidedly negative. If the team “gave everything” and failed, that’s on him.

  1. Same old story.
Nothing good can come from this man. The players are even tired of him
