The club have been in decline for some years, but after a dreadful start to their Ligue 2 season they have got a grip and look to have secured their future for now.
They’re still in deep financial trouble however, and as soon as their Ligue 2 status is secured they will look to conclude a sale of the club. Get French Football News today report that there is an “English speaking” bidder offering €32m for the club.
Many have taken this to mean Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, who has made his desire to create a network of clubs very clear. A bargain buy of such a historic team would seem like the dream scenario.
Their story notes that current club president Bernard Caiazzo was at Crystal Palace’s draw with Everton on Saturday – although we’re not really sure what that implies.
