We’re unfortunately into the tedious part of any managerial appointment – the incremental updates from Fabrizio Romano. He gets a little boost of engagement every time he mentions any tiny change in the progress of the negotiation, and we feel obliged to report on it.
As it was earlier today, his update was very positive in moving forward the Mauricio Pochettino move to Chelsea which now seems inevitable. After earlier today mentioning the Argentine telling his staff to prepare for a new job, he apparently had “very positive talks” tonight.
Romano warns however that the formal contract still has to be “sent checked and signed.” That will presumably form the body of the next “major update” we get from Romano. We would imagine he is getting this information direct from one side or the other. Either way, it all points towards a completed and announce deal within days or at moat a fortnight.
