There were some very annoying questions in Frank Lampard’s press conference about whether his team had anything to play for this season.
He rather snapped back that there was plenty to play for, and he explained further in a clip on the club’s social channels this afternoon. There’s personal pride, pride in the shirt, and for many of these players, their Chelsea futures to play for…
As an aside, it’s quite crazy how comfortable Lampard is in these videos compared to Graham Potter, who always looked rather like he was recording them at gunpoint in a hostage situation.
You can see the coach speaking in the clip embedded here:
'It's important we understand the pride that's at stake when you play for Chelsea.' 💙

How is it “quite crazy” that Lampard is comfortable in front of the cameras? He only spent an entire playing career in front of them, lol! So, of course, he feels more at ease in front of them than Potter!
But what does his comfort or discomfort really matter, SuperFrank, when he can’t manage a football team to save his life??? I mean, it worked so well the first time to play Sterling and Gallagher in a front two that it deserved a reprise against Brentford? Brilliant!
Here’s an idea. Since Lampard is so comfortable in front of cameras, let’s stick him in a commentary booth and ban him from ever taking the sideline for Chelsea again, lol!
