Frank Lampard attended Chelsea’s game on Tuesday night, was asked to take over as caretaker on Wednesday, and was taking training by Thursday.
It all happened very fast, and the footage from training in the week shows the players barely aware the new boss was in place before he was taking training at Cobham.
Unfortunately the result didn’t go the way he wanted, and he won’t have much time on the training pitch at all between now and the end of the season.
