In the end, it was a great strike from John McGinn that truly killed Chelsea in today’s loss.
But the game was changed early on when some dreadful defending allowed Ollie Watkins an easy goal, as two of Chelsea’s three central defenders got mixed up and gave him a clear run at goal.
“We need to defend better than we did and of course I’m responsible for that,” said Graham Potter at full time.
He takes responsibility, as well he should. It was him who set up the bizarre back 3, and it was a direct consequence of that when we conceded to a simple ball over the top.
