Graham Potter’s pre-match comments about Mason Mount and his contact standoff were, all things considered, positive.
“I’m sure it will get sorted out soon,” the manager said of his midfielder and the rumours he will be leaving this summer.
We don’t want to get overexcited by just a small hint, but we reckon if the Chelsea coach had been told Mount was definitely going, he wouldn’t be sending out any optimistic messages at all.
On the other hand, Potter reported Mount as fit in his press conference yesterday, but he’s not been picked today, so perhaps it’s all a smoke screen.
