Speaking after the loss against Wolves, Frank Lampard had his first (but probably not his last) chance to try and explain why his team were beaten so easily.
He said they had lacked “aggression,” which is probably a fair criticism. They lacked a lot of things, and if they don’t find some fighting spirit before Wednesday night, they’re going to be torn apart by Real Madrid.
There was little fight in attack or defence.
