Frank Lampard was asked about the officiating in his post match press conference, and he mentioned the foul that Eder Militao committed while already on a yellow card.
The Chelsea manager stressed that his team would have been playing against ten men, which might have made a difference given they were already creating chances.
It was a soft foul, and you’d feel harshly done by getting a red for it, but Lampard makes a good point – the attacker was clear of Militao and moving towards goal, and 90% of the time that means a yellow, when it’s on the edge of the box.
