Once again Mykhailo Mudryk was given a chance to start tonight, and once again he failed.
That was the reality of today’s game, where the expensive January signing was asked to lead the line, but missed his only presentable chance of the game.
On Sky Sports after the game they debated whether he needed to do better or just needed time, with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Lee Hendrie able to give some insight from the inside.

How is this a debate? Of course he needs time, lol! He’s a young guy and his talent is undeniable. It’s his first start in weeks. Surely he deserves some benefit of the doubt! Besides, it’s not like Potter is maximizing his value as yet. With Mudryk’s speed, we should be playing him wide balls into areas where he can go 1v1 and/or serving him in behind where he can sprint past the defense. Playing him balls underneath or having him drift inside just blunts his best attributes.
